Sharjah, March 23 (QNA) - Qatar University took part in the sixth edition of the International Government Communication Forum in Sharjah in the UAE under the theme "Societal Participation and Comprehensive Development." Seven female students from the Department of Mass Communication represented Qatar University in the event as part of enhancing its pioneering role in society and keenness on constant presence in festivals, conferences and forums as well as participation in cultural and intellectual events, particularly those related to students.
For their part, the students expressed their delight at their participation and the forum's role in boosting their knowledge as the event touched on the issues of government communication, which is directly related to their study.
More than 2,500 heads of states and governments, intellectual leaders and government officials participated in the event, which discussed issues such as the role of social media in moving towards effective participation, government communication and development goals, the impacts of conflicts and asylum on Arab development, in addition to a series of discussions, workshops and interactive dialogue sessions held in collaboration with U.N. organizations and media networks.
