Paris, Mexico City, Madrid, Athens to Ban Diesel Vehicles by 2025



MOSCOW (Sputnik) — The mayors of Paris, Mexico City, Madrid and Athens pledged to ban diesel vehicles by 2025, media reported Friday. The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) said that the average concentration of carbon dioxide (CO2) in the Earth's atmosphere reached 400 parts per million in 2015 and continued to increase in 2016. WMO added that 2016 was expected to be the first year, when the levels of carbon dioxide in the atmosphere would remain above 400 parts per million during the whole year.
