Railway minister orders probe into train accident in Odisha

Bhubaneswar, Sep 29(UNI)Union railway Minister Suresh Prabhu today expressed deep concern over the train accident in Odisha and ordered immediate inquiry into the incident in which one passenger was killed and 27 others injured when a passenger train hit a goods train at Kathjori station this evening.
East Coast Railway(ECoR) Chief Public Relation Officer Jyoti Prakash Mishra said the accident took place as both the Passenger and the Goods train were on one track and the passenger train which left the Barang station at about 18-19 hours hit the goods train at about 1830 hrs near Kahthjori station.
At least two bogies of the Passenger trains were derailed and the passengers were trapped inside the compartment.Train movements between Bhubaneswar and Cuttack have been affected forcing the ECoR to divert several long distance trains.
