Japan-Residence of Shigeru Yoshida Rebuilt as Museum

Authentic news,No fake news.

Oiso, Kanagawa Pref., March 26 (Jiji Press)--A ceremony was held on Sunday to celebrate the completion of work to reconstruct the old residence of former Japanese Prime Minister Shigeru Yoshida in the town of Oiso, Kanagawa Prefecture, southwest of Tokyo.
The rebuilt property will be used as an annex to the Oiso Municipal Museum, open to the public from Saturday.
One of the longest-serving prime ministers in Japan, Yoshida lived in the residence from soon before the end of World War II in 1945 until his death in 1967. Even after he retired from politics, key figures in political and business circles often visited him at the house in the Pacific coastal town, providing evidence of his influence.
In 1979, the residence was used for a summit meeting between then Japanese Prime Minister Masayoshi Ohira and then U.S. President Jimmy Carter.
After the residence was gutted by a fire in March 2009, the town government started rebuilding it.
