Bangladesh reopened its diplomatic Mission in Algeria,

DHAKA, Oct. 20 (Xinhua) -- Bangladesh has reopened its diplomatic Mission in Algeria, a Foreign Ministry statement said on Thursday. It said Bangladesh Ambassador-designate to Algeria Md. Abdul Hye is expected to join the mission soon. The Charge de Affaires Md. Shahjahan will be conducting the day-to-day affairs until the ambassador-designate joins the mission, it added. Bangladesh had earlier opened its Diplomatic Mission in Algeria on Aug. 10, 1973, which was later closed down in 1993. According to the statement, Bangladesh enjoys brotherly bilateral relations with Algeria based on commonalities of history, tradition and religious faith. Bangladesh hoped that the reopening of its mission in Algeria will usher in newer avenues of enhancement of substantive cooperation in the fields of trade and commerce, economic and social development and promoting people-to-people contacts for mutual benefits of the two countries.
