No ancient Egypt, but the northern coast of Peru were the first 'palette' which has taken shape and has been used the indigo color, typical of the modern blue jeans, that would be much older than expected. It dates back to 6,000 years ago, and not 4,500 as previously thought, as is clear from the tissues found by archaeologists in the South American country. The details are explained in the study coordinated by Jeffrey C. Splitstoser, the Columbian College of Arts and Sciences in Washington, and published in the journal Science Advance.

In the Andes already 7800 years ago was cultivated cotton. Due to the arid climate of that part of Peru, several decorative fabrics have remained intact for thousands of years, until they have been discovered in the 40s. They were so well preserved that researchers still could see the blue dye vividly and were able to analyze the amount of indigo and indirirubina, key components of indigo.

With radiocarbon dating have seen that dated back to 6,200 years ago. Indigo was one of the most precious colors in the ancient world, and was used by China to Egypt and South America.Today it is still used to create the blue of blue jeans. So far the oldest usage dates back to 4400 years ago found in Egypt, but this new study the date of another 1,500 years before and Peru.
