7 Cambodian Cities Compete in ASEAN Clean Tourist City Contest

AKP Phnom Penh, December 12, 2016 –

Cambodia has nominated seven cities to compete with other ASEAN cities in the regional clean tourist city contest, said H.E.Thong Khon, Cambodian Minister of Tourism.

The  seven cities are Siem Reap, Battambang, Sihanoukville, Phnom Penh, Kep, Kampot and Kampong Cham, pointed out H.E. Minister at the meeting with private sector in tourism industry in 2016 in Siem Reap province this morning.

The contest focuses mainly on tourist information desk and quality of tourism services, said H.E. Thong Khon, adding that the result will be announced in 2018 in Thailand.

Initiated by Cambodia, the ASEAN Clean Tourist City Contest was approved by the ASEAN Tourism Ministers during their 18th meeting in Nai Pyi Taw, Myanmar, in January 2015.
